ACTON, Mass .– (BUSINESS WIRE) – The Insulet Corporation (NASDAQ: PODD) (Insulet or Company), with its world-leading Omnipod® brand of tubular insulin pump technology, has announced several activities in recognition of Diabetes Awareness. Month and World Diabetes Day during November.

“We are committed to improving the lives of people with diabetes and at Insulet, we strive to make Pod therapy available to anyone who needs insulin on a daily basis,” said Shacey Petrovic, president and CEO. “We are committed to influencing this global epidemic by more than 400 million people living with diabetes worldwide and currently serving about 11 to 12 million.”

Insulet will ring its almost-closed bell on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange on Monday, November 15th. Ms. Petrovic will be a member of the Insulet community, including staff, as well as clinical trial participants and health care providers, who have made a significant contribution to Ms. Petrovic’s latest innovative product, the Omnipod 5® Automated Insulin Delivery System. The Omnipod 5 will be an automated tube-free insulin delivery system with compatible telephone control in the US. The Omnipod 5 System received the designation of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration device and is currently being reviewed prior to launch.

Throughout November, Insulet will be sponsoring a number of community events, including the Virtual Children with Diabetes Friends of Life, Risely Health Together T1D, and beyond type 1 Community Table focusing on the language of diabetes. The company has also teamed up with Senita to provide a collection of fitness clothing to fund scholarships for students with diabetes with a portion of their income.

Insulet will take part in various multimedia campaigns on social media channels to increase type 1 and type 2 diabetes and to help and empower people with diabetes. Rebecca Redmond, an Omnipod client and relative of Dr. Frederick Banting’s insulin finder, will appear on several channels and stand out as Podder of the Month. Additional Omnipod brand ambassadors will share personal stories on their blogs and social media channels.

On World Diabetes Day, November 14, the Company will highlight the power and diversity of the diabetes community in a video on social media. This content supports the theme of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) for World Diabetes Day 2020, which is Access to Diabetes Care.

Insulet staff will help raise awareness through a variety of activities throughout November, including sharing personal stories about living with the disease and dressing in blue on Fridays, a color that symbolizes diabetes.
